Sober House Rules

Along with us creating a serene sober living environment in the beautiful Broward County area, we need to ensure that we have certain structure in place for the safety of all residents as well as the dynamic for proper recovery in your first year in sobriety.  Up until the day that you entered your detox or treatment center, it’s safe to assume that your life did not have much structure.  That was a main component of why you continued the behaviors that go along with addiction.  We have found that by separating ourselves from old people, places and things – we can achieve lasting recovery that includes freedom and happiness.

Upon admission to New Friendships sober living recovery homes, you agree to comply with the following:

  1. Zero tolerance for drug or alcohol use.
  2. Any resident who is on prescribed medications must immediately inform one of the managers or Resident Advisors and must secure those medications in the designated secured area on the property. All medications must be taken as prescribed.
  3. No engaging in illegal substance manufacturing, possession and/or distribution will be tolerated.
  4. No stealing or destroying property will be tolerated.
  5. No sexual activity on the property.
  6. No physical confrontation or verbal confrontation with any staff or resident will be tolerated.

Residents who have been asked to leave due to their own breach of rules will not be permitted back on the property.
  9. All residents must attend 90 AA/NA meetings their first 90 days of residing at New Friendships and then five meetings a week thereafter. Meeting verification sheets are due at the house meeting.

All new residents will be subject to a one week trial period. If the new resident is considered to be unsuitable to live at New Friendships, all deposits will be refunded. Additionally, various issues and violations committed by existing residents will also be brought to the Resident Advisement Committee. The Resident Advisement Committee, in conjunction with management will determine suitability for continued residence at New Friendships.
